چکیده
THYROID HORMONES AND THE CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM According to the classical literature on human physiology4, thyroid hormones – thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) – produce an overall increase in the basal metabolism of the human body. This is accompanied by greater tissue oxygen consumption, owing both to vasodilation and the concomitant increase in cardiac output, which are facilitated by enhanced chronotropism and inotropism. Studies of hyperthyroid patients5-10 have demonstrated that they show increased contractile force and cardiac output, with decreased peripheral resistance.

ABSTRACT Background and objectives: Studies have shown that exercise can affect hormone secretion and some metabolic and endocrine functions. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of eight weeks of aerobic training on thyroid hormones and quality of life in obese postmenopausal women. Methods: In this semi-experimental study, 21 obese (body mass index >30 Kg/m2)...
متن کاملInteractive effect of exercise and Anvillea garcinii extract on cholesterol and thyroid hormones in hypercholesterolemia rats
Introduction: Thyroid hormones are one of the most important hormones affecting the bodychr('39')s metabolic function, so the treatment of hormonal disorders of this gland using low-risk drugs and methods such as exercise and herbal remedies is effective. Hence, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect. Interactive exercise and aniseed extract of Anvillea garcinii extract on Cholest...
متن کاملNeuregulins Response to Exercise: a Mini Review
The Neuregulin is a member of the epidermal growth factors (EGF) family of receptor kinases, was originally identified as the product of the transforming gene derived from chemically induced rat neuroblastoms. A variety of different protein isoforms are produced from single Neuregulin gene. Four distinct vertebrate gene encode Neuregulin, prosaically named NRG1, NRG2, NRG3, and NRG4. Most of bi...
متن کاملGestational hypothyroidism-induced changes in L-type calcium channels of rat aorta smooth muscle and their impact on the responses to vasoconstrictors
Objective(s): Thyroid hormones play an essential role in fetal growth and maternal hypo-thyroidism which leads to cardiovascular deficiency in their offspring. Considering this, we intended to investigate the impact of gestational hypothyroidism on offspring vascular contractibility and possible underlying mechanisms. Materials and Methods: Hypothyroidism was induced in female rats by administ...
